Specialization and desirable qualifications:
Specialization in Ancient & Medieval Odia Literature/ Comparative Literature in Odia.
Desirable:
a) Expertise in Odia Language, Literature & Cultural Studies (with Ph. D. in the relevant area);
b) Regular teaching/research experience of at least 05 years in Odia Language, Literature & Cultural Traditions and Social Institutions;
c) Good functional knowledge of English/Hindi;
d) publications of books or articles in journals;
e) experience in teaching/guiding research
Duty of Assistant Professor (Odia):
The thrust area of study of the Chair will be the teaching and research programme in Odia
Language, Literature and Cultural Traditions and Social Institutions. The work is assigned by the Chair Professor from time to time.
Essential Qualifications:
(i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/ relevant/ allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time,
as the case may, be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:
Tenure: Three years initial period of 2 years extendable up to a maximum of 5 years on a review of the performance.
