Named as ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri Nautical & Engineering College’ as a token of gratitude to former Prime Minster Late Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri for making the present site available. Renamed as Lal Bahadur College of Advanced Maritime Studies & Research in 1994.

Essential Qualifications:
1. Valid COP (Second Class) and Valid GMDSS (GOC) issued by Wireless Planning
& Co-ordination Wing, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of
Communication, Government of India.
2. Six months of Sea Service as Radio Officer within the meaning of STCW
Convention, as amended.
3. VICT / TOTA Course Certificate.
Desirable Qualification: TSTA Course Certificate.
Experience: Six months of teaching / training experience in Maritime Training Institute(s)
in India.
Age: Preferably below 60 years
Responsibilities: Teaching / Training to candidates attending GMDSS Course
