Organization Profile:  The birth of Indian Maritime University is a long-cherished dream of the maritime community of India. The Indian Maritime University came into being through an Act of Parliament (Act 22) on 14th November 2008 as a Central University and is poised to play a key role in the development of a trained human resource for the maritime sector. 14th November is celebrated as ‘IMU Day’ every year.

Job Title:

• Faculty ( Nautical Science) (Master Mariner)
• Faculty (Marine Engineering)

Employment Type: Contract

Qualification :

• Nautical Science
  a) Director General (Shipping) recognized Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency:
  b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at the Management level within the meaning of the STCW Convention, as amended.
  c) VICT / TOTA Course Certificate within 6 months of appointment.
• Marine Engineering
  a) MEO Class – 1 (Motor) Certificate of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India.
  b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at the Management level within the meaning of the STCW Convention, as amended.
  c) VICT / TOTA Course Certificate within 6 months of appointment.

Job Location: Chennai, Tamilnadu

Period of Contract Initially for 6 months and extendable based on performance and requirement.

Scale of Pay:

• Salary commensurate with qualification and experience (Range Rs. 70,000/- to 1,20,000/- per month)
