Organization Profile: Indian Institute of Technology Patna is one of the new IITs established by an Act of the Indian Parliament on August 06, 2008. Patna which was known as Patliputra has been a center of knowledge since a long has been attracting visitors and scholars from many parts of the world such as China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and Sri Lanka, among others. - Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) under Visvesvaraya Scheme
Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IITP) is offering one post of Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) under Visvesvaraya Scheme to attract highly motivated bright scientists and engineers to carry out advanced research in IIT Patna. These PDF research positions will be temporary positions.
Qualification:
a) The PDF applicant should be an Indian citizen.
b) The PDF applicant must have obtained PhD degree from a recognized University with first class (in terms of grades, etc.) in all preceding levels and a good academic record throughout.
c) The PDF applicant should have completed PhD within the past 5 years on the last date of submission of application to the institution.
d) PDF applicants should not have completed their PhD at the same institution where the PDF fellowship is to be awarded.
e) The upper age limit for the fellowship is 40 years on the date of submission of application to the eligible participating institution.
f) PDF applicants should not have completed their PhD at the same institution where the PDF fellowship is to be awarded.
g) The research proposal of the PDF applicant, to be submitted to the institution, should define clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables against the award.
h) PDF applicants currently in regular employment will not be considered. However, scientists or researchers with temporary positions in academia or research institutions would be considered however, they would be required to relinquish their current roles if selected for the fellowship
Duration of the post: :The duration of the fellowship is for a period of 1 year
Fellowship Grant
Fellowship Amount: Rs. 1,08,393/- per month
Travel Support: Upto Rs. 2,10,000/- (with prior approval from PhD Cell, DIC, MeitY)

The candidates called for interview shall have to make a presentation of their research plan
before the selection committee in the concerned academic department. The selection committee shall interview the candidates and discuss the research plan in detail. At least two letters of recommendation / reference from peers regarding the research capabilities and other attributes of the applicant must be submitted along with the application
