Organization Profile: It was a memorable day on May 01, 2016, at Jammu, when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India, was signed, setting the ball rolling to set up an IIT campus at village Jagti, Tehsil Nagrota at Jammu. The site is located on the National Highway and is about 15 Km from the Airport. 

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow(JRF)

Project Title: Innovative Low-Cost Aluminum Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) for the Frame Structures as Sustainable Infrastructure Solution

Area of Specialization /Research: Structural Engineering/Earthquake Engineering/ Steel Structures

Duration: Initially for 6 months, extendable based on performance and project needs. The
position is coterminous with the project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. M.Tech./M.E. in Structural Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA from a recognized institute.
    OR
  2. B.Tech./B.E. in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA from a recognized institute.

Note: For candidates applying with a B.E. / B.Tech.,

CFTI applicants: A valid GATE (or equivalent) score is not required; however, a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10-point scale (or equivalent) is mandatory.

Non-CFTI applicants: A valid qualification in a recognized national-level examination is required, such as GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, ICAR, ICMR, or examinations conducted by IITs, IISc, IISERs (or equivalent institutions).

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in using structural analysis and design software such as OpenSees, ETABS, SAP2000, or Abaqus.
  2.  Knowledge of experimental testing methods in structural engineering and finite element
    analysis.

Consolidated Salary per Month : ₹37,000/- + HRA as applicable
