The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Job Title: Research Assistant (RA)
Project titled: ” Rural-Urban Migration and Transition in Family Structure: A Study in the Purvanchal Region of Uttar Pradesh ” funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.
Qualification:
- Postgraduate in Social Science discipline (with minimum 55 %) and NET/M.Phil. /Ph.D.
- Candidate has work experience in working on the issue of migration, labour, work/inequality/exclusion/ and family.
- Knowledge of the SPSS, Atlas-Ti
- Experience of conducting interviews and survey
- Basic understanding of Hindi language
Pay Scale:
- Rs. 37,000/ per month (Consolidated pay with no other allowances).
Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be for six months from the date of his/her joining the Institute, which may be extended later/terminated earlier depending on the availability of funds and performance of the candidate.
Age: Should not exceed 50 years as on date of advertisement with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ differently abled and exceptional candidate(s) as per the Government norms.
