Organization Profile: IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute. IISER Bhopal aims to provide quality science education to UG and PG students. The prime focus of the Institute is to integrate science education with research. Also, the Institute is committed to impart high ethical values and create social and environment awareness.

Qualification: 

For the post of Associate Professor: 

• Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to proven track record of excellent research ability and leadership skills.
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I / Senior Scientific Officer/ Senior Design Engineer.

For the post of Professor:

• Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout, in addition to proven track record of outstanding research ability and
  leadership skills.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution/ Institutions of comparable standards, as may be so decided by the Institute.

Pay Scale:

For the post of Associate Professor: 

• Pay Level 13A2 with an initial pay of ₹ 1,39,600/-.

For the post of Professor:

• Pay Level 14A with an initial pay of ₹ 1,59,100/-.
