Organization Profile: The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualification: First class Master’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology / Mathematics and Computing (Major: Computer Science) or in related areas from any recognized University or Institute. Final year Master’s students may apply but if selected they must satisfy the essential qualification at the time of joining. Candidates must have a valid GATE / NET score.
Desirable Qualification: Strong programming skills, knowledge in the relevant area (natural language processing, machine learning, deep learning, programming with TensorFlow/PyTorch), and and prior work experience in deep learning will be preferred.
Tenure of Fellowship:
Rs. 31,000 + 24% HRA (as per rules) per month (for first 2 years).
Rs. 35,000 + 24% HRA (as per rules) per month (for the 3rd year)

Duration: The appointment is purely on contract basis upto a maximum period of three years or the availability of fund, whichever is earlier, and subject to satisfactory performance evaluation every six months.
