Organization Profile: The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon’ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it.

Job Title: Project Associate-II – Research

Project Title: Evaluation of the Carbon Sequestration Potential of the Indian Basalt rocks via Mienralization (Koyna Warna region): Providing Field Recommendations for conducting a CO2 Geo-storage Pilot. (Project Code – R/EGM)

Department having vacancy: Deysarkar Centre of Excellence in Petroleum Engineering

Qualification:  

(A) Master degree in Geology/Geophysics or Bachelors degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Petroleum/ Mining Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
(B) 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and scientific activities and services.
(C) Qualification through (i) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (ii) a selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions.

Pay Scale:  Upto 35000 (depending on qualification and experience)
