Organization Profile: The Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) was established in 2005 under section 3 of the UGC Act. HBNI has the following Centres as its Constituent Institution (CI)/Off-Campus Centre (OCC): The Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) was established in 2005 under section 3 of the UGC Act. The role of HBNI is to nurture in-depth capabilities in nuclear science and engineering and to serve as a catalyst to accelerate the pace of basic research and facilitate its translation into technology development and applications through academic programs, viz., Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering, Physical, Chemical, Mathematical, Life and Medical & Health Sciences while encouraging inter-disciplinary research.

Qualification: The candidate should be a Ph.D in engineering or science with first class or equivalent at preceding degree. He/ She should be an eminent engineer/scientist with excellent academic background, high quality R&D output in one or more areas of relevance to the Cls of HBNI. Scientific research or successful Project implementation track record in areas of interest to HBNI is necessary.
Desirable Qualification: Familiarity with the working of DAE and legal framework for governance of education in India. Should have guided students for research background degrees and participated management of academic programmes.
Experience: A minimum 12 years of experience in teaching and research out of which 10 years must be as Professor in the grade pay of Rs.10,000 and above or equivalent (Pre-revised VI CPC Scale) (VII CPC Level 14) with experience in research in science and engineering in a research laboratory. Preference will be given to those who have worked in research centres or aided institutions of DAE for at least 15 years.

Salary: The Scale of pay of the post of Dean, HBNI is in Level 16 (7th CPC Scale) plus allowances as per rules of the Government of India.
