Organization Profile: The University of Hyderabad is a public research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Founded in 1974, this mostly residential campus has more than 5,000 students and 400 faculty, from several disciplines. The governor of the state of Telangana is ex-officio the chief rector of the university, while the President of India is the visitor to the university. The university was established along the lines of the Six-Point Formula of 1973. The first vice-chancellor of the university was Banaras Hindu University organic chemist Gurbaksh Singh, from 1974 to 1979. Shri B D Jatti was the first chancellor of the university. In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India.

Essential Qualifications:
i) A Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Optometry or Optometry & Vision Sciences with not less than 55% marks with good academic record (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) from a recognised Indian University, or an accredited foreign university.
ii) In addition to fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must satisfy either of the following.
a) Possess a Ph.D. degree in Optometry / Optometry & Vision Sciences, awarded in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, as amended from time to time or PhD degree obtained from a foreign university/institution, which is ranked within the top 500 universities globally (at any time) by any one of the following internationally recognised ranking agencies: QS, THE, ARW.
OR
c) Possess a minimum of three (3) years of post-Master’s professional experience in Teaching and/or Clinical practice in the field of Optometry and Vision Sciences, in a recognised academic institution, hospital, teaching hospital, or clinical training centre.
OR
d) M.Sc Physics or PhD Physics experience in teaching Optics.
Emoluments: Guest Faculty will be paid an honorarium of Rs.1500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- per month
