Organization Profile: After independence, development of the rural sector was considered the primary concern of the Government of India. In 1949, with the appointment of the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission, imparting of agricultural education through the setting up of rural universities became the focal point. Later, in 1954 an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, the Vice-President of ICAR, was constituted that arrived at the idea of establishing a Rural University on the land-grant pattern of USA.

Remuneration: Remuneration will be paid at the rate of Rs. 650/- per hour with a maximum of Rs. 30,000/- per month for candidates fulfilling the eligibility of Assistant Professor in the discipline of Rs. 550/- per hour with a maximum of Rs.25,000/- per month for the candidates possessing Master’s degree only in the concerned discipline.
Qualification: Doctorate Degree in the subject concerned or related field/ Master’s degree in the concerned discipline at least 60% marks or equivalent in the point scale system. The NET/SLET will be an essential qualification where (as for the recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professors). or equivalent in the discipline NET/SLET is conducted by the ICAR/UGC/CSIR or any other Central/ State Govt. Agency, as per University rules.
