Organization Profile: After independence, the development of the rural sector was considered the primary concern of the Government of India. In 1949, with the appointment of the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission, the imparting of agricultural education through the setting up of rural universities became the focal point. Later, in 1954 an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, the Vice-President of ICAR, was constituted that arrived at the idea of establishing a Rural University on the land-grant pattern of USA.

Job Title: Teaching Personnel

Department: Extension Education and Communication Management

Essential Qualifications : Doctorate degree or Master’s Degree in Extension Education and Communication Management/ Home Science Extension/Agricultural Extension and Communication or related field of Home Science/Community Science with at least 60% marks or equivalent in the point scale system. For candidates having Master’s degree, NET (National Eligibility Test) shall remain compulsory.

Job Location: Pantnagar, Uttarakhand

Pay Scale: Remuneration will be paid at the rate of Rs. 650/- per hour with a maximum of Rs. 30,000/- permonth for candidates fulfilling eligibility of Assistant Professor in the discipline or Rs. 550/- per hour with a maximum of Rs. 25.000/- per month for candidates possessing Master’s degree only in the concerned discipline.
