Essential Qualifications: For Assistant Professor, candidates should have a good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines, or a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) with UGC-NET/JRF/SET, and candidates with 2-3 years of experience are preferred. For Associate Professor, candidates should have a good academic record with a mandatory Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines, a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks with UGC-NET/JRF/SET, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching and/or research equivalent to that of Assistant Professor, along with a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
Note: Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the awarding institution and shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirements subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions, including regular mode of Ph.D. award, evaluation by at least two external examiners, an open Ph.D. viva voce, two published research papers (at least one in a refereed journal), and presentation of at least two papers in sponsored/funded conferences or seminars, all certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.
