About College: In keeping with India’s vision to become a world leader in science and Technology and to usher in a new revolution, resulting in unprecedented economic growth, the Government of India reassessed the need of technical manpower and decided to set up eight new IITs. Six of these started functioning back from the academic year 2008-09. These were established at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Rajasthan, Ropar, Patna and Bhubaneswar. IIT Indore and IIT Mandi started functioning from July 2009.

• Mechanical Engineering
  1) Industrial Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing Operations Management, Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0, and Industrial Data Analytics.

Qualification: 

• (a) Assistant Professor Grade II:
  (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout
  Desired: In addition to this, an undergraduate and/or a postgraduate degree/diploma in Design/Arts/Applied Arts from an IIT, an NID, or other leading
  institutions.
  (ii) The position of Assistant Professor Grade II will be on contract basis.
  (iii) Age: Maximum 32 years
• (b) Assistant Professor Grade I:
  (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout
  Desired: In addition to this, an undergraduate and/or a postgraduate degree/diploma in Design/Arts/Applied Arts from an IIT, an NID, or other leading
  institutions.
  (ii) Experience: Minimum three years of industrial/ research/teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
  (iii) Age: Maximum 35 years
• (c) Associate Professor:
  (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
  (ii) Desired: In addition to this, an undergraduate and/or a postgraduate degree/diploma in Design/Arts/Applied Arts from an IIT, an NID, or other leading institutions.
  (iii) Experience: Minimum six years teaching/ industry/research experience of which at least three years’ experience should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade I, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer.
• Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
  The minimum requirements for the position of Assistant Professor Grade I & II are as follows:
  (a) Assistant Professor Grade II:
  (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
  (ii) The position of Assistant Professor Grade II will be on contract basis.
  (iii) Age: Maximum 32 years
  (b) Assistant Professor Grade I:
  (i) Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
  (ii) Experience: Minimum three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
  (iii) Age: Maximum 35 years
