Organization Profile: The Central Agricultural University has been established by an act of Parliament, the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 of 1992). The Act came into effect on 26th January 1993 with the issue of notification by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Govt. of India. The University became functional with the joining of the first Vice-Chancellor on 13th September 1993. The jurisdiction of the University extends to seven North-Eastern Hill States viz., Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura, with headquarters at Imphal in Manipur.

Title: Niche modeling and exploration of genetic worth of major bamboos for enhanced productivity in pulp and paper industry (Project Code: RMPD-1-2026-2031), a DPIIT (Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India) funded multi-institutional project
Qualifications:
- Project Associate-I (PA-I): Master’s degree in Forestry (Forest Biology & Tree Improvement, Forest Products & Utilization), or Genetics & Plant Breeding or Plant/Forest Biotechnology from a recognized University. Age: below 35 years (as on date of interview; relaxation as per GoI norms).
- Technical Assistant/Field Assistant-I: Graduate in Science from a recognized University. Age: below 50 years (as on date of interview; relaxation as per GoI norms).
Desirable:
- Project Associate-I (PA-I): (a) Working experience in Forest Genetics/Tree Improvement/Biotechnology; (b) Experience in bamboo/germplasm survey and collection, vegetative propagation and nursery techniques, molecular marker analysis, GIS and Ecological Niche Modeling (MaxEnt/QGIS), and soil analysis; (c) Willingness to travel and stay in difficult terrains/far off places to complete field works and collect samples.
- Technical Assistant/Field Assistant-I: Experience in nursery raising, field survey, germplasm collection and sample processing; working knowledge of computer (MS Office) and data entry; willingness to travel and stay in difficult terrains and far off places to complete field works and collection of samples.

Pay Scale:
- Project Associate-I (PA-I): Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA for NET qualified; or Rs. 25,000/- per month + HRA for non-NET qualified
- Technical Assistant/Field Assistant-I: Rs. 20,000/- per month + HRA as admissible
