Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country. International Labour Organization (ILO) served as the executing agency. During the initial project period between 1968 and 1973, the institute achieved the targets envisaged and was rated as one of the most successful UNDP projects implemented worldwide. Today CIPET is a premier Academic institution for higher & technical education under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India fully devoted in all the domains of plastics viz:- Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Testing and Quality Assurance. CIPET operates from various locations spread across the country to cater the needs of the Polymer and allied industries.

Employment Type: Contract

Essential Qualification: 

  • Associate Professor
    • Full time First Class BE/B.Tech. and ME/M.Tech. in in the relevant discipline from a recognized University with Ph. D in the relevant discipline Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable
    • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in teaching and / or research and / or industry of which at least 2 years of post Ph. D experience is desirable
  • Assistant Professor
    • i)Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with first class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
      ii)Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
      iii)Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges/Institutions.
    • Experience: At least 2 years post qualification Experience in the relevant discipline

Remuneration range : 

  • Associate Professor: Rs.46,400 /- pm
  • Assistant Professor: Rs.35,000 /- to Rs.40,000 /- pm
