Project Title: Permafrost destabilization induced mass wasting vulnerable zones modelling in higher Himalayan regions (Bhagirathi-Alaknanda valley) through snow cover-climate-terrain interactive mechanism employing Deep Learning techniques (DMSP-ASCB/AS/2022/07)
Essential qualifications:
Minimum 55% in M.Sc./ M.Tech/ Integrated M.Tech in Remote Sensing/ GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Applied Geography & Geoinformatics and relevant subject. Preference may be given to the candidates with research interest & field work as per requirement of the project. Candidates who are in last semester of their M.Sc./ M.Tech degree with result awaited may also apply, however in case of selection joining will be effective only with passing of MSc/MTech degree within given joining time. Candidates with NET or GATE will be preferred.
Desirable: Candidates having experience and knowledge in large data handling (satellite data, meteorological data etc.), with working knowledge of SAR/hyperspectral remote sensing, R, Python, GEE, MATLAB software(s), artificial intelligence, machine learning, GPS, DGPS, UAV, LiDAR, etc. will be preferred.

Duration: The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of six months, which can be extended further depending upon performance of the candidate on yearly basis.
Emoluments (Per month): Rs. 31000 + HRA for 1st and 2nd Year, and thereafter Rs. 35000 + HRA for 3rd Year as SRF. (Candidates, with M. Sc. Degree and without NET/GATE if selected, will be paid assign the post of Project Associate I @ Rs. 25000/- + HRA per month for initial two years, and thereafter Rs. 28000 + HRA as Project Associate II, respectively.) HRA shall be paid as per the University rules or Funding agency.
