Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Qualification:
Associate Professor (Plastics Engineering):
- Qualification as same as for the post of Asst. Professor and PhD or equivalent in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable
Assistant Professor (Plastics /Mechanical ):
- Full time 1st Class B. E. / B. Tech. and M. E. / M. Tech. in relevant discipline from a recognized University.
Assistant Professor (Humanities and Sciences):
- Full time Master’s Degree with good academic record with 1st Class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from Indian Universities.
- Besides fulfilling the qualification, candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility conditions of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointments of Assistant Professors Or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions.
Assistant Professor (Management):
- Full time 1st Class Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
Lecturer (Chemistry):
- Full time 1st Class master degree in relevant discipline with First class or equivalent at full time Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
Lecturer (Plastics /Mechanical/Computer Science & Engineering):
- Full time Bachelor’s Degree with first Class or equivalent in Engineering / Technology in
relevant discipline. If the candidate has full-time Master’s degree in Engineering /Technology, First Class or equivalent is required at full time Bachelors or Master’s level; and Ph. D. in relevant Discipline
Assistant Placement Consultant
- Full time graduate in any discipline with two years experience in the relevant area. OR
- M.B.A. (HRM/PM) with one year experience in the relevant area
Assistant Librarian:
Full time First Class B.Lib.Sc./B.Lib.I.Sc with Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science/Information Science with typing/PC Operation.
Remuneration range :
- Associate Professor: Rs.46,400/ per month
- Assistant Professor: Rs.35,000/- to Rs.40,000/- per month
- Lecturer: Rs.30,000/- to Rs.35,000/- per month
- Assistant Placement Consultant: Rs.35,000/per month(Consolidated Pay)
- Assistant Librarian: Rs.20,000/- to Rs.25,000/- per month
