Organization Profile: The Central Agricultural University has been established by an act of Parliament, the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 of 1992). The Act came into effect on 26th January 1993 with the issue of notification by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Govt. of India. The University became functional with the joining of the first Vice-Chancellor on 13th September 1993. The jurisdiction of the University extends to seven North-Eastern Hill States viz., Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura, with headquarters at Imphal in Manipur.

Period of Contract : 01 (One) year
The contract can be terminated by either side at any time by giving one month’s notice. The University can terminate the contract immediately, by paying one month’s agreed remuneration in lieu of the notice period.
Qualifications:
- Applicant should be an Indian National
- Ph.D. in Vegetable Science with experience of working in Public Sector, Agricultural Universities or Research Institutions in the rank of Professor/equivalent post at pay Level-14 and above for 10 years on regular basis.
- Preference will be given to the candidates having well experience in planning and execution of Research and Extension activities.
Pay Scale:
- Fixed Remuneration of Rs. 82,500/- per month shall be paid, and other service conditions will be as per existing rules of the University for contract appointment
