- A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research/professional experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Institutions/Universities of comparable standards. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area, with an excellent record of publications in reputed journals and conferences and should have graduated M.Tech./M.S./M.Sc./Ph.D. student (s). It is desirable that the candidate has carried out laboratory development/course development/technology development/innovative work leading to patents/significant publications and has generated sufficient funding for research. It is also desirable that the candidate has external recognition in the area of specialization. The criteria of supervision of Ph.D. students may be relaxed for candidates who have joined from industry
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
- A minimum of 6 years post-Ph. D teaching/research/professional experience of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade I in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Universities/Institutions/Industries of comparable level. The candidate should have demonstrated research ability with an excellent record of publication in reputed journals and conferences and supervision of M.Tech./M.S./M.Sc./Ph.D. student(s). It is desirable that the candidate has carried out laboratory development/course development/technology development/innovative work leading to patents/significant publications and has generated sufficient funding for research. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR GRADE I

- Candidates not eligible for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor Grade I, such as those with less experience may be considered for a contractual position of Assistant Professor Grade II.
PAY LEVEL:

- ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR– Basic Pay: ₹ 1,39,600/- [min.] {Academic Pay Level 13A2 of the Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission}

- Candidates should have an excellent academic record, good communication skills, a commitment to high quality under-graduate and post-graduate education and demonstrated ability to carry out original and creative research.
- Candidates not eligible for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor Grade I, such as those with less experience may be considered for a contractual positon of Assistant Professor Grade II. However, it should be noted that Assistant Professor Grade II is not a regular faculty position. The Contractual period in Assistant Professor Grade II stands terminated at the end of tenure unless it is converted to Assistant Professor Grade I, following due process.
- In the case of Foreign Nationals who are “Persons of Indian Origin” (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), if selected, permission will be sought from Govt. of India before he/ she can join the Institute.
- In the case of other Foreign Nationals, if selected, appointment will be on a contract basis for up to 5 years subject to permission from the Govt. of India before he/she can join the Institute.
- Political and security clearances from the Ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs of Government of India (GOI) are necessary in every case for individuals with foreign passports.
- Mere fulfilment of the qualifications and experience requirement laid down does not entitle a candidate to be called for seminar/ interview.
- The institute reserves the right to process the applications from the areas that are of current interest to the growth of the department and institute.

- Candidates called for interview process will be reimbursed domestic airfare by Economy class from the place of their residence within India and back by the shortest route subject to booking of the tickets as notified by GoI.
- Persons employed in Government/ Semi-Government Organizations or Educational Institutions, MUST apply either through proper channel or shall provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with their application. If neither is possible, they must submit NOC at the time of Interview (if called for interview), without which their interview will not be conducted and they will not be entitled for travel expense reimbursement. NOC is not needed for other applicants.
