Job Summary
The Librarian will be responsible for managing and maintaining the college library resources, supporting students and faculty in academic and research activities, and ensuring smooth library operations in line with institutional and AICTE norms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day library operations including circulation, reference services, and reading rooms
- Classify, catalog, and maintain books, journals, periodicals, and digital resources
- Assist students and faculty in accessing library materials and research support
- Maintain library records, issue/return registers, and accession registers
- Implement and manage digital library systems and e-resources
- Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and proper usage of library facilities
- Coordinate with departments for syllabus-based book procurement
- Prepare reports and documentation as per AICTE/Board of Technical Education requirements
- Support audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib) or
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Librarian in an educational institution (Polytechnic/Engineering College preferred)
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also be considered
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of library management systems (LMS)
- Familiarity with digital libraries, e-journals, and online databases
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, email, database handling)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to guide students and faculty effectively
- Knowledge of AICTE / DTE norms and documentation is an added advantage
Pay Scale: As per AICTE norms and Institutional policies
