Organization Profile: The Indian School of Mines was formally opened on 9th December 1926, by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India to address the need for trained manpower related to mining activities in the country with disciplines of Mining and Applied Geology. In 1967 it was granted the status of a deemed to be university under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Since its establishment, IIT(ISM) has undergone considerable expansion of its activities, and presently it can be considered as a total technology education institute.
Job Title:
Title of the project : Development of Innovative Extraction Method for Safer Extraction of Coal Seam by Underground Method with Higher Productivity and Percentage of Extraction using Continuous Mining System
Tenure of Project: Twelve Months (12) or Co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Job Description (in maximum of 100 words): The selected candidates will be involved in frequent field investigations at different underground coal mines and are required to spend minimum 10-15 days at each mine site for data collection and site investigations. The candidates will also need to carry out numerical simulations, data analysis, report preparation, publication of research papers, and other related to the project work as and when required.
Essential Qualification:
- В.E./ В.Тech. in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering
Or
M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./M.Tech. in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Applied Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological Technology, Tunnelling & Underground Space Technology, Rock Engineering and Underground Structures - The candidates must have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET.
Desirable Qualification :
- M.E./M.Tech. in relevant specializations related to Mining, Rock Mechanics, Geotechnical, or allied fields
- Knowledge on underground coal mining and numerical simulation software like FLAC3D/3DEC.
Fellowship:
- Rs. 37,000/- per month + admissible HRA in case hostel accommodation is not available.
