Researchers, PhD scholars, M.Phil students, and faculty members looking to sharpen their methodological skill sets have two significant opportunities this September. LekSha Research Centre (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., a company registered under India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is hosting a pair of advanced, live online research methodology workshops designed to take participants from foundational concepts to hands-on, publication-ready technical competence. The two programs — one on evidence synthesis and the other on structural equation modeling — are aimed at anyone working toward a thesis, dissertation, or journal publication that depends on rigorous quantitative or synthesis-based methods.
Workshop 1: Mastering Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis
The first program, titled “High-Impact Evidence Synthesis: A Step-by-Step Guide to Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analysis,” runs across three consecutive evenings, from 4 to 6 September 2026, between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM IST. It is structured as a comprehensive walkthrough of the entire systematic review pipeline. Key topics include:
- Formulating research questions using PICO, PECO, and SPIDER frameworks
- Preparing and registering a protocol on PROSPERO
- Distinguishing systematic vs. scoping vs. narrative reviews
- Multi-database search execution (e.g., Scopus) and AI-assisted search strategies using tools like Elicit and Consensus
- Deduplication and screening workflows using Rayyan, including blinded screening, tag setup, and resolving reviewer conflicts
- Designing and pilot-testing data extraction sheets for inter-reviewer agreement
- Applying JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) checklists for critical appraisal of observational and cross-sectional studies
- Calculating effect sizes — odds ratios (OR), relative risk (RR), and mean differences (MD/SMD) — with data import and cleaning in JAMOVI
- Generating and interpreting forest plots, and understanding fixed- vs. random-effects models
- Building PRISMA 2020-compliant flow diagrams
- Quantifying heterogeneity (I², Tau-squared, Chi-squared test) and performing subgroup and sensitivity analyses
- Constructing funnel plots and running Egger’s test for publication bias
- Strategies for writing and publishing systematic reviews/meta-analyses in peer-reviewed journals
Workshop 2: Advanced SEM with SmartPLS4
The second offering, “Advanced Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM & PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS4,” is a more extensive five-day program running from 11 to 15 September 2026, also from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST. This workshop is designed for researchers who need to move beyond basic regression-based analysis into sophisticated modeling techniques widely used in management, social science, and behavioral research. Key topics include:
- Principles of SEM and the difference between CB-SEM and PLS-SEM
- Evaluating multivariate normality and determining sample size using WebPower and G*Power
- Structural and measurement model specification — reflective and formative constructs
- Installing SmartPLS and getting familiar with its interface
- Building models using real datasets from recent papers and SmartPLS projects
- Common Method Bias — meaning, measures to avoid it, and the full collinearity test
- Measurement model assessment (reflective) — reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity
- Measurement model assessment (formative) — redundancy, collinearity, outer weights
- Structural model assessment — collinearity, path coefficients, model fit, R², effect size (f²)
- Mediation analysis — full, partial, parallel, and serial mediation
- Predictive power assessment — PLS Predict (Q²) and CVPAT
- Moderation analysis — interaction effects and simple slope analysis
- Multi-group analysis (MGA) and measurement invariance testing (MICOM)
- Higher-order models — when to use them, types, and estimation via two-stage and repeated indicators approaches
- CB-SEM structural models and confirmatory factor analysis
- Higher-order CB-SEM modeling
- Multimethod techniques — Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA), Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA), and combined cIPMA
- Individual consultations with participants to discuss their specific research concerns
