Essential Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Chinese from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Foreign University, along with a qualifying NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or an accredited test like SLET/SET. Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Alternatively, candidates holding a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the QS, THE, or ARWU world rankings are also eligible.
