It was established by the Government of India through Act, 2020 (32 of 2020) with the objective of fulfilling the acute shortage against the increasing demand for forensic experts in the country and around the world.

- Professor from any Department of IIEST, Shibpur
- Excellent research record with proven recognition
- Proven Success in securing competitive research funding
- Strong communication, networking, and team-building skills
- Ability to spend reasonable time at the Centre for its activities and simultaneously discharge responsibilities at the parent department.
- The tenure will be initially for 3 years with an annual appraisal
- Either party (the Faculty or the Centre) may end the association with 90 days’ prior written notice.
Remuneration:
- Honorarium of Rs. 30000 per month (top-up)
