Organization Profile: Kazi Nazrul University was established under West Bengal Act XIX of 2012. Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata gazette extraordinary, 16th August 2012. The university has been named as a mark of respect to the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam of India who is also the national poet of Bangladesh (died in Dacca, August 29, 1976). The Kazi Nazrul University has been founded with a vision to function efficiently as a university encouraging and providing instruction, teaching, training and research in various branches of learning and courses of study for promoting advancement and dissemination of knowledge and extending higher education to meet the growing needs of society.

Research Position: Research Fellow

Title of the project: “Preferential Extraction of Tantalum from Segregated e-wastes Leached by Using Halide-based Reagents and Subsequent Separation of the Metal through Solvent Extraction”

Sponsoring/Funding Agency: Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and TECHSPARK, Balurghat

Essential Qualifications: B. E. / B. Tech. in Metallurgical / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering with first class from a recognized University / Institute. M. Tech. / M.E. in relevant discipline or B. Tech.  in relevant discipline with valid GATE score is preferable. Candidates having research experience in the area of extractive / process metallurgy / kinetics / hydrometallurgy will be given preference.

Desirable Qualifications: Candidates having research experience in the area of extractive / process metallurgy / kinetics / hydrometallurgy will be given preference.

Project Duration: 24 months

Stipend: ₹ 19,000 per month (consolidated)
