Job Title/Designation: Associate Professor/Assistant Professor

B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Sc Counselling Psychology

Qualification: (As per UGC / Bharathiar University Norms):

• Ph.D. in Psychology or Counselling Psychology is mandatory for Assistant Professor.
• Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology / Clinical Psychology or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
• Candidates who have qualified NET / SLET / SET or hold a Ph.D. (in accordance with UGC Regulations 2018) are eligible to apply.

Experience Required:

• Assistant Professor: Minimum 8 years of teaching / research / clinical experience with publications in refereed journals, counselling experience with proven academic leadership and research guidance record.

Areas of Specialization (Preferred):

• Counselling and Psychotherapy
• Clinical and Abnormal Psychology
• Psychological Testing and Assessment
• Guidance and Career Counselling
• Behavioural Modification and Positive Psychology
• Child and Adolescent Counselling
• Research Methodology and Psychological Statistics

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach and mentor students in undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs.
• Supervise student dissertations, internships, and field training in counselling practice.
• Design and update curriculum aligned with NEP 2020 and emerging psychological research.
• Conduct and publish research in recognized journals.
• Facilitate mental health awareness programs, workshops, and extension activities.
• Collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, and wellness centres for field training and outreach.
• Contribute to the institution’s Student Wellness and Counselling Centre initiatives.
