Advertisement for the Position of Junior Research Fellow at Uka Tarsadia University, Surat

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of one Junior Research Fellow in a GSBTM funded research project with following details:

Title: Investigation of predation pressure as a novel approach for enhanced bacterial exopolysaccharides (EPS) production to improve soil restoration, health and aggregation

Co-investigator: Dr. N. Amaresan, Senior Associate Professor, C.G. Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology, Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli, Surat-394350, Gujarat, India.

Essential qualifications:  M.Sc., Degree in Microbiology. Biotechnology, or relevant area of Life Sciences with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent and with CSIR-NET/GATE/BET Qualification. (Non CSIR-NET/GATE qualified candidate can also apply: however, if selected the fellowship will be given as per the norms of GSBTM, Gandhinagar)

Desirable: Practical knowledge in microbial (bacteria/ protist) culture, soil biology, and statistical optimization analysis will be given preference.

Age limit: 28 years  

Salary: As per the norms  

Duration: Three years or up to the termination of project (subject to the review of candidates’ performance)

3. No travel allowance is admissible for attending the interview, The selected candidate will have the option to register for PhD program as per the norms of Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli.
4. Tenure of JRF shall be purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
