Organization Profile: After independence, the development of the rural sector was considered the primary concern of the Government of India. In 1949, with the appointment of the Radhakrishnan University Education Commission, the imparting of agricultural education through the setting up of rural universities became the focal point. Later, in 1954 an Indo-American team led by Dr. K.R. Damle, the Vice-President of ICAR, was constituted that arrived at the idea of establishing a Rural University on the land-grant pattern of USA.

Department:

• Human Development and Family Studies

Essential Qualifications : Doctorate degree in Human Development and Family Studies/Home Science or Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies / Home Science with at least 60% marks or equivalent in the point scale system. For candidates having Master’s degree, NET (National Eligibility Test) shall remain compulsory.

Job Location: Pantnagar, Uttarakhand

Remuneration: The positions are purely contractual and temporary in nature. Remuneration will be paid at the rate of Rs. 650/- per hour with a maximum of Rs. 30,000/- per month for candidates fulfilling eligibility of Assistant Professor in the discipline or Rs. 550/- per hour with a maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per month for candidates possessing only Master’s degree in the concerned discipline
