Organization Profile: The Radhakrishnan University Education Commission of 1949 emphasised the need for establishing Agricultural Universities in India., Subsequently, the indo-American team consistitued under the Chairmanship of Dr. K.R. Damle (1955), the then Vice-president of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, suggested a system of education for Indian as followed in the Land Grant Colleges of USA. The Planning Commission Committee felt the inadequacy of trained personnel for substantial output in agricultural operations with the then set up of research, education and extension in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied fields. In course of time, these recommendations led to the creation of the agricultural universities to accomplish the integration of teaching, research and extension.

Qualification:
1. Minimum 2nd Class Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned subject (discipline*) with atleast
55 % marks/ equivalent OGPA.
2. Minimum 2nd Class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with atleast 55 % marks/
equivalent OGPA.
3. The candidate must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences) rated journal.
4. The candidate having Ph.D. degree in concerned subject with course work as prescribed in the UGC Regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of National Eligibility Test (NET) and the candidate must have atleast 02 (two) full length publication having “NAAS” rating not less than 4 on the last date of application. The candidate with Ph.D. Degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.

Pay Scale: Cell-1, Level -10, Rs.57,700/- with usual DA & other allowances as admissible
