Eligibility Criteria

• A two-year Master’s degree or equivalent professional degree with a minimum of 55% marks or a ‘B’ grade on the UGC 7-point scale (or equivalent from an accredited foreign institution).
• Candidates who have successfully completed the M.Phil. Degree and cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks (in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale) are eligible.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-abled.

Financial Support

• Full-time PhD scholars with provisional registration receive  a stipend of Rs. 25,000/ month for up to 3 years.

• Scholars qualified in UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/GATE/GPAT are eligible for Rs. 31,000/month for up to 3 years.
• Stipend continuation is subject to satisfactory annual research progress.

Submit your research proposal, academic transcripts, and required documents (10th/12th mark sheets, UG/PG certificates, competitive exam certificates like UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, etc., in PDF; passport-sized photo and signature in JPG/JPEG/PNG, max 5 MB).
• Ramapuram Campus: Apply online at https://registration.srmrmp.edu.in/ph-d-application-form-2025. Upload the same required documents as above.
