Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (2 Nos.) in a sponsored MAHA-EV Mission project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmadasraf A. Mulla (PI), Dr. Aeidapu Mahesh (PI), Dr. Suresh Lakhimsetty (PI). The duration of the project is for maximum of three years. About the Institution:
The Institute was established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVRCET) Surat in 1961 as one of the Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) to impart technical education. The Institute had begun with offering Bachelor Degree Programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The Government of India declared the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVRCET) Surat to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat with status of ‘Deemed University’ with effect from 4th December, 2002. With the enactment of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007, the Institute has been granted the status of ‘Institution of National Importance’ w.e.f. August 15, 2007.
The Institute now offers eleven (11) B.Tech. Degree Programmes, twenty-one (21) M.Tech. Degree Programmes, three (03) Five Years Integrated M.Sc. Degree Programmes in Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics, One (01) Five Years Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech Degree Programme and Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics. Institute offers Doctoral Degree Programme in Engineering, Science, Management and English. Institute also offers M. Tech (R) in all the engineering disciplines.

Essential Qualification:
- First Class in M.E. /M.Tech. in Power Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives, Electrical Engineering, or related Allied branches.
- Candidate should have qualified GATE or NET.
Desirable Qualification:
- JRF1: Background in Power Electronics & Drives, Programming with microcontrollers, Speed control techniques, PCB design, MATLAB simulations.
- JRF2: Battery Management Systems, expertise on applying Deep Learning Algorithms for various applications, Python programming, Embedded programming, PCB design.
Fellowship: Rs.37,000 /- + HRA (20%)

- The applications received within the last date & time stipulated will be screened by a selection committee, and a list of eligible candidates shortlisted for interview/test will be displayed on the Institute’s official website along with the date and time schedule of the interview/test. The Screening Committee will devise its own criteria for shortlisting of candidates for interview. Merely fulfilling main eligibility criteria may not be suitable for eligible to be invited for the interview/test.
- The decision of SVNIT-Surat in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, screening, mode of selection will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or any agency on behalf of the candidate.
- The original documents of selected candidates will be verified at the time of Interview, and in the event of any information mentioned in application/CV/testimonials found false or incorrect, their candidature straightway shall be cancelled.
