Job Title: Teaching Faculty

Eligibility criteria:

• Position 1: Indian Ocean Studies
  • Ph.D. in History or in any other social science field, with a focus on South Asian History
  • We especially seek candidates with research and teaching expertise in the field of Indian Ocean studies and connected world in the period 700 to 1600 CE
  • You must have research-level skills in a relevant language of the period
    Desirable:
  • Proven expertise through academic publications in the relevant field
  • Strong interest in teaching various history courses set in the said period at the undergraduate level
• Position 2: Public Histories
  • PhD in History or in any other social science field, with a focus on South Asian History
  • We seek candidates whose research interests are in the field broadly defined as Public Histories which includes museum studies, curatorial studies, archival studies, architectural and monumental studies or historical preservation
  • Expertise in digital techniques and platforms is desired
    Desirable:
  • Working experience outside the academic settings, particularly in contexts of engagement with the public, such as museum curation, heritage walks etc.
  • Publications (both academic and public writing) in the relevant field
