RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka is going to organise Six Day Faculty Development Programme on “Advanced Functional Materials” from 5th to 10th August 2019.
Post Date: 27th July 2019
Name of the College: RV College of Engineering
About College: R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) established in 1963 is one of the earliest self-financing engineering colleges in the country. The institution is run by Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) a not for profit trust. The trust runs over 25 institutions and RVCE is the flagship institute under the trust. RVCE is today recognized as one of India’s leading technical institution.
Event Title: Advanced Functional Materials
Event Date: 5th to 10th August 2019.
Organized by: Department of Physics and Department of Chemistry & Centre of Excellence – Microelectronics.
About Event: Today’s research aims at developing new functional materials at Nano/microscale and exploiting their inherent properties to develop devices that work with very high efficiency and accuracy, utilising least energy for working. Functional materials, possessing specific inherent properties and functions of their own are being developed to serve a specific purpose such as sensing, biosensing, energy conversion, energy storage etc. Batteries, capacitors, fuel cells, solar cells and sensors are some of the critical devices
expected to play a dominant role in finding solutions to the problems of today. The objective of the proposed six-day FDP is to discuss the recent developments made in the field of advanced material and the ongoing research activities covering various areas. In particular, the workshop will emphasise materials and device fabrication for solar energy conversion and sensors. The FDP encompasses invited talks, hands-on experience in the various fields of materials and industry
- Design and synthesis of novel multifunctional nanomaterials, their applications in Engineering.
- Piezoelectric materials for sensor application.
- Materials for energy conversion and storage.
- Fabrication and characterisation of solar cells.
- Training on Fabrication Equipment: Sputtering, Spin Coating Characterization Equipment’s-XRD, AFM, SEM etc.,
- Demonstration of Sensors by Industry Person
Eligibility: Faculty, students and research scholars of Engineering and Degree Colleges
- Industry Person: Rs. 5,000/- +18% GST
- Faculty: Rs. 3,500/- +18% GST
- Students: Rs. 1,500/- +18% GST
