Organization Profile: The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) was initially set up as Tezpur Lunatic Asylum under the British Government in April, 1876. In 1922 the hospital was rechristened as Tezpur Mental Hospital. With the progress in the field of psychiatry across the globe, steps were also taken to develop this hospital with modern facilities. Major construction activities were started in 1926. A private firm, “Zardine Menezes Co.,” was hired from Calcutta for undertaking the upgradation works. By the end of 1932 the hospital accommodation rose up to 700 beds. Most of the existing buildings in the Indoor section are of those times.

Qualification: For Sl. No. 1: Professor: (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qr-qualifications included in Part II of the Third The schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii)Post-graduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section – A of Schedule – VI or equivalent.
Essential Experience: For Professor (Sl No. 1) – (i) 12 years standing in the profession out of which at least 4 years experience should be in the concerned
specialty as Associate Professor in a Medical College/Teaching Institution after the requisite Post-graduate degree qualification. (ii) Extensive practical and administrative.
Essential Qualification: For Sl No. .2 to 6. (i) First or Second Class (S5%) Master’s Degree in Social Work/ Nursing (ii) M. Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work/ in Clinical Psychology /Psychiatric Nursing)( iii) ph. DID’Sc in Social work/Clinical PsychologzTesyJrriatric Nursing from a recognized Institution / University.
Essential Experience: For Sl No. 2 to 4. i) s years teaching & research experience as Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Social Work/ Clinical psychology /Psychiatric Nursing in recognized_ department/center. Desirable: 03 (thr#) publications in indexed journals.
Essential Experience For Sl Ng. 5 & 6: 3 years teaching /clinical /research experience in the concerned subject degree. desirable: o2 (two) Research Publications in indexed journals as first/corresponding author.
Essential Qualification: For Sl No. 7: First Class M.Sc. in psychiatric Nursing from a recognized University/institution or M.Sc. in Nursing with Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing or equivalent qualification. Desirable: 2 years of teaching experience in Psychiatric Nursing.
