About College: Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies (KUFOS) is an autonomous public funded-institution established on 20th November 2010. KUFOS is the first fisheries university in the country. The headquarters of KUFOS with its enchanting blue building stands in harmony with the greenery at Panangad, 12 km away from Kochi city, along NH-47. It provides high quality instructional programmes in fisheries, ocean sciences and allied subjects. The University now has 75 acres in the headquarters at Panangad, 50 acres at Fisheries station, Puduveypu and 10 acres at Thiruvallom near Vizhinjam.
Job Title: Junior Research Fellow/Field Assistant
Title of the Project: Studies on the Occurrence, Distribution and Composition of micro plastics along the Kerala Coast with emphasis on their manifestation of near shore communities
Funding Agency: DST-SERB
Required Qualification :
- M.F.Sc in Aquatic Environment Management/ M.Sc Marine Biology/ Biological Oceanography/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/ Environmental Sciences/ Zoology with specialization in Aquatic Ecology.
- The candidates should have passed the NET examination conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICAR.
Desirable Qualification : The candidates have research experience in analytical techniques/environmental impact assessment/GIS is desirable.
Job Location: Kochi, Kerala
- Rs 25,000.00 p.m. + 20% HRA (as per DST-SERB norms) for 1st and 2nd year.
- Rs 28,000.00 p.m. + 20% HRA (as per DST-SERB norms) for 3rd year
