Job Title:
- Dean Research
Scope: Drive strategic planning and provide guidance across academic and research programs, fostering new and interdisciplinary research initiatives and collaborations. Manage research enterprise within the Institution.
Qualification: PhD-with at least 15 yrs experience
Required Skills:
- At least 15 years of progressive experience working with national and international agencies guiding research and development;
- Proven skills in managing research and development teams working across disciplines and research topics;
- Ability to develop new and innovative research collaborations as demonstrated by both programme development and fundraising;
- Guiding and directing research and partnership development in national and international organizations
- Proven skills to develop research strategies and planning with an aim to undertake foresight analysis in research and development;
- Publications in reputed journals;
- Skills to develop and deploy technology interventions that focus on progressive research and market development;
- Provides strategic leadership in developing and refining the College’s research mission and activities towards meeting current and future needs
- Support the academic programmes with inputs related to research and design of academic/industry -Institute programmes
- Assists faculty to form successful collaborative research groups that integrate and support individual, community-based, and team-based programs of research;
- Creates mechanisms to facilitate multidisciplinary research activities;
- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset to enable faculty to pursue diverse external funding sources in the expansion of the research mission. Helps faculty navigate among traditional research opportunities and emerging funding sources;
- Provides and facilitates mentorship of research-active faculty;
- Provides consultation regarding the preparation of research proposal and potential funding;
- Lead efforts to develop appropriate communication and outreach material related to research, development, and technological interventions related to the Institution’s activities.
- Skills to work under pressure and deliver on multiple tasks.
- Experience of working with the private sector will be an added advantage
