Organization Profile: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country. International Labour Organization (ILO) served as the executing agency. During the initial project period between 1968 and 1973, the institute achieved the targets envisaged and was rated as one of the most successful UNDP projects implemented worldwide. Today CIPET is a premier Academic institution for higher & technical education under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India fully devoted in all the domains of plastics viz:- Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Testing and Quality Assurance. CIPET operates from various locations spread across the country to cater the needs of the Polymer and allied industries.

Project Title: “Environment friendly recycling technology & value addition of medical waste plastics obtained from PPE kit used during COVID19 situation: A sustainable approach towards healthy environment”
Qualifications:
- Research Associate – I: Ph.D (Polymer Science / Material Science) or Equivalent degree from recognized university or equivalent or Minimum 03 years research, teaching and design & development experience after M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech in (Plastic Engineering / Polymer Technology / Plastic Technology / Polymer Nanotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science) degree from recognized university or equivalent with at least one research paper in science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
- Project Associate-I: Master Degree (M.E./M.Tech) in (Polymer Science / Material Science/Plastic Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Polymer Technology / Polymer Nanotechnology) from recognized university. or Master Degree (M.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech)) in (Polymer Science / Materials Science / Nanotechnology) or equivalent qualification with first class in Master Degree. *NET/GATE qualified candidates shall be given preference.
Fellowship: As per DST Norms
Job Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Desirable Experience: Candidates with strong knowledge on Polymeric Materials, Testing & Characterization, Polymer Processing/Blend, Bio-medical Plastic Waste Disinfection treatment, application background and experience in processing of polymeric blends and materials will be preferred.
Duration of Project: The duration of the project is for 02 (two) years only, which is purely temporary.
